I purchased two text books for my English course and already have two assignments due :(. The two books I purchased were the Little Brown Handbook and The St. Martin's Guide to Writing.
I was told that the Little Brown Handbook was a book that will help me through out my college years and also in my career. After reading a few pages, I can see that this book will definitely help me in my future career.
In this assignment, I had to read pages 236-243 in the Little Brown Handbook and Chapter 22 of The St. Martin's Guide to Writing . Both books discusses the proper way on writing business letters and memos. I learned when writing a business letter you should state the purpose at the very start, be straight forward, watch for grammar and to use a standard format. Both section also gave a visual example of how a well written business letter should look like. Both textbooks also discussed on how to write business memos and those can range from being really long or just being about one specific topic. I learned some effective tips to write a business memo as well as seeing a visual example of how a email and or printed memo should look.
